Every year, locals and visitors are drawn to Ocean City, Maryland to celebrate all of the much anticipated St. Patrick’s Day festivities. Now that it is finally March, we wanted to let you guys in on all of the cool events that are happening around town.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival
This is easily one of Ocean City’s premier events. Thousands of people line the streets in all green every March 17th to watch as floats, bands, local celebrities, and more make their way down Coastal Highway to 44th Street throwing out plenty of goodies for all.
Similar to last year, the parade will begin at noon on 57th Street and head towards the Gold Coast Shopping Center where judge stands are located. Participants can expect trophies to be awarded for Best Marching Band, Best Commercial Float, Best Non-Commercial Float, Best Motorized Unit, Best Adult Marching Unit, Best Youth Marching Unit, and more.
It is encouraged that attendees arrive before 10:30 am in order to find parking. Oh, and don’t fret if you aren’t able to make it to town. You will be able to check out live coverage of the parade and festival on www.wrde.com right from home!
In addition to the parade, the annual Ocean City Irish festival will be held at 45th Street Village from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with live entertainment from Kevin O’Brennan, the Shoreline Band, and Irish apparel. Admission to the event is free, and there will be delicious food as well as drink options available for purchase.
