In the state of Maryland alone, 40 people die each week due to drug overdoses.
To bring awareness to this growing problem, Tony Christ created a non-profit organization called Brian’s Song in honor of his son who passed away from a heroin overdose in December 2004 at the young age of 22. Brian’s Christmas Songbook Concert took place on December 3rd, featuring artist Lauren Glick and the Mid-Atlantic Symphony, in hope send important messages to the new generation. This unique and creative way to bring attention to the dangers associated with drug use and addiction was free to attend at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center. With a sold out 4pm show, they opened up the 12pm dress rehearsal to the public. If you haven’t heard the touching story of Brian Christ, you can read it here.
